What?

Tom Robbins, the Observer newspaper’s deputy travel editor, had a bright idea for a ski book – a guide for snow addicts in search of a quick weekend fix. He just needed a trusty photographer to capture every powder-carving moment.

So we

Sent our head of photography (and resident ski ace) Robin Gautier zipping off around Europe with Tom, shooting classic runs in Chamonix, white-knuckle descents at La Grave, snowbombing in Austria, the party set in Verbier and bags more.

Resulting in

White Weekends: a skier’s and snowboarder’s dream of a book, packed with stunning action shots and advice on how to hit the world’s best pistes at the drop of a beanie hat. Weekends will never be the same again.
